This is part 2 of my bid for number 4 here->> [link]
Part 1 - [link]
Part 3 - [link]Yes, this is all line-art that's not mine, but this is not actually really a serious part of my bid. It's just to help display his personality and a possible scandal if I win him. <333"Damn this blasted fog, I can't see a thing,"
muttered Grant as he trudged down the dew-laden path to the broodmare pastures. He had only just reached the fence when he heard the sound of hooves on stone and then turf. At the same time she heard Callie scream at the top of her lungs "SHIT! NO, NO, NO!!! GOD DAMNIT, YOU SON OF A... AUGHHH!!!" her cursing was stemmed by an enraged and frustrated scream and was followed by a loud grunt and the sound of a halter being flung forcefully to the stone path that led between pastures.This... sounds very bad,
Grant thought dismally as he turned his head.
Nope. It was worse.
Callie, who had underestimated the stallion's strength, had tied him to a hitching post by the side of the path so she could pick a stone out of his foot. The pony had only been on the island for a few days and so Callie had not yet had much of a chance to teach him basic ground manners, much less manners concerning other horses. He'd caught wind of the mares a few pastures down and had run back so hard that he actually broke the snap of the lead rope, causing his halter to slide askew over one ear. She grabbed his halter, the halter came off, she fell ass-first onto the rock she'd just gotten out of his hoof, and the short stallion had run straight for the mares.
All the mares in the closest pastures had been confirmed in foal, so it wasn't like the pony could do much harm. Calliope's main concern wasn't a rouge mix-breed foal out of one of her prized thoroughbred mares, but that one of the horses might get hurt in all the excitement. However, everything vanished from her mind as she reached her husband, who had stopped in his tracks and not budged for fear of being in the way. They both stood starstruck as the sleek pony stallion launched himself effortlessly up and over the five-foot-six fence. Callie found herself mumbling, "My God he's a freak..."
In the few minutes that it took for them to run to the pasture and catch sight of the stallion again through the thick fog, the brawling was over and the stallion was ripping up occasional mouthfuls of grass as he strutted around the mares, who milled about each other excitedly. He came back to Callie rather smugly, snorting and tossing his thick tail with much ado. "You little trouble-maker... You're just lucky that these mares were already pregnant, or I'd have castrated you right here myself."
"So... How did he clear a fence that's half eight inches taller than him?"
"I don't know how he did it, but I do know that he gets to keep on singing bass..." She glanced down at the short stallion again before reconsidering. "Well, maybe tenor; he's kinda small and he squeals like a girl."
