Strobe Light Tan is not a name that would normally inspire thoughts of greatness, but on the day that the stallion took his last steps around the saddling paddock, the press was all over him, his fans were weeping and cheering him on, and his trainer hung her head and cried for the first time in over a year. All the way through the post parade, the gate loading, the race itself which he easily won by two lengths, and all through the winner's ceremonies, the crowd was screaming, crying, and chanting Tanner, Tanner, Tanner...
His last race had run at 2 that afternoon but it wasn't until close to 10 that the last few of the adoring fans finally left his stall for the last time.
Name: Strobe Light Tan
Nickname: Tanner, Little Slew
Projected Height: 15.3
Color: Seal Bay
Sire/Dam: Slew City Slew x Better Than Honour
Discipline: Flat Racing
Temperament: Tanner is a bit flighty sometimes with the typical scary objects of the barn... you know, because that tissue by the door might leap up and infect you with some horrible disease, and you know how unpredictable those terrible folding chairs can be.
Otherwise Tanner is a playful little scamp, always up for a game of tag or chase, and if it's snowing you may as well not even TRY to get him in before dark. He likes to pretend he's got perfect camouflage at all times; he tries so hard to be stealthy but he has this odd habit of sticking his tongue out, cocking his head to the side, and breathing really loud when he's concentrating on anything. It actually rather funny to see him on the training track because of this; all the other youngsters breeze on by as normal as you please, and then here comes Little Slew with his head turned sideways, his great big tongue sticking out the side of his mouth, and his fuzzy mule ears flopping around like they've gone off their hinges. A mess of mud and money is his signature look, but we don't mind at all.
